G Adventures App

General Discussion

Just want to remind fellow G travellers to download the app as it seems to get overlooked. All your past trips are listed plus the full itinerary of booked/upcoming trips. The chat feature at the bottom shows you names of travellers on your trip and how many people are currently on the trip. It updates when new people sign up for the same trip. The chat feature is also great for connecting with people that will be in the starting city prior to the start date and perhaps you can make some plans together prior to the group meeting on Day 1. I have my 11th trip coming up and this app/chat is always underutilized. I think early on there were some glitches reported but I find it to work very well.

Oman: Middle East Regional Unrest

Safety

Updated: March 9, 2026

As the situation in the Middle East continues to evolve, G Adventures can confirm all travellers and staff are safe and accounted for.

With persistent flight disruptions across the region and elevated travel warnings, which can impact traveller insurance coverage, we have made the decision to cancel our operations in Jordan and Oman up to and including April 5, 2026. We are proactively contacting all affected travellers to advise them on our flexible rebooking options.

We are advising all travellers currently in the Middle East to register their presence with their respective Embassies in order to receive security updates. We also advise travellers to contact their airline to verify the status of their onward flights.

The safety of our travellers is always our top priority and our local team is monitoring the situation closely should any adjustments to itineraries on the ground be necessary.

Colombia: Weather Disruptions

Safety

Updated: February 22, 2026

Caribbean Region

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding, road disruptions, and some infrastructure damage in the Caribbean coastal area of Colombia. Forecasts indicate unstable weather will persist for some days. As a result of the rains, some areas are temporarily inaccessible and beach access remains closed for safety reasons.

All G Adventures travellers and staff are safe and accounted for.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely over the coming days and we will update groups locally should changes to itineraries become necessary.

Is the hiking on this trip actually demanding or more leisurely?

Advice

The G Adventures listing says "moderate" physical grade for the Iceland Waterfalls and Hot Springs trip but I've found that can mean very different things depending on the trip.

I'm reasonably fit but not a hardcore hiker, I do weekend walks, nothing technical. Are we talking proper mountain terrain with altitude gain or more like scenic strolls between waterfalls?

Also curious if anyone has done this in late September, is the weather still manageable or does it start getting genuinely grim?

Cambodia: Border Disputes with Thailand

Safety

Updated: February 3, 2026

Border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia continue as tensions remain high over disputed border areas.

Thailand launched airstrikes into Cambodia as fighting broke out along the disputed border area, with both countries accusing the other of breaching a U.S backed ceasefire agreement.

G Adventures is operating groups in Thailand and Cambodia, however, groups are not close to the affected border area and we can advise that all travellers and staff are safe and accounted for.

G Adventures will continue to send notifications to affected groups where adjustments to itineraries are necessary due to border closures.

Escalations remain restricted to the border area, which is approximately 250 KM away from Siem Reap and 400 KM from Bangkok. All land border checkpoints remain closed. Whilst we continue to closely monitor the situation, all of our trips crossing the Thailand - Cambodia border are currently running as scheduled with no interruptions. We continue to secure flights for all our travellers in place of the usual land border crossings.
