Safety
In July 2025, fighting broke out along parts of the Thailand–Cambodia border, involving rocket and artillery fire and closing all land borders and crossings. Tensions remain, with reports of escalated conflicts in the border area. As a result, some travel advisories are currently advising against all but essential travel to Battambang.
Intrepid is proactively rerouting all itineraries that visit Battambang for departures until 30Jun, 2026. Please check the trip itinerary for details of the changes.
All our trips that include Thailand and Cambodia fly between the two countries and do not visit the impacted border area. There's been no disruption to the airspace between the two countries.
The overall foreign travel advice level for Cambodia remains unchanged and our ground teams are continuing to monitor the situation closely to ensure smooth and safe travels.
